What Is Essentials?

Your essentials journey is much more than learning. It's about joining a community of uncompromising passion for Word and Spirit culture, the ways of God, and fulfilling the call of being sent by Jesus.

The Essentials Course is designed to:

  • Set forth a theological framework that reinforces the development of personal discipleship based on the core purpose of knowing God
  • Center on The Triune nature of God as the prime reference for life, relationships, church structure, mission, and revival; the implications of a relational theology
  • Reenergize our vision of The Church 
  • Better understand how to develop a ‘Word and Spirit’ church and ministry culture
  • Develop the theological framework that cultivates servant-leaders who are collegial, relational, and most of all committed to glorifying Christ.
  • Lay a theological foundation for Messenger’s Five Distinctives: Trinity Community, Intimacy with God, Word and Spirit [Radical Middle], Gospel of The Cross, The Ways of God


The Essentials Course is a comprehensive program consisting of six modules, each intended to be completed over the span of a month. Content is broken down into 20-minute video sessions you can watch at your own pace.

How To Get Started

There are 3 simple steps to get started!

  • Select from three course track options! E-COURSE is for those interested in the course but not ordination. Take the course at your own pace with optional Zoom discussion participation. STANDARD is for those interested in ordination. Watch the videos at your own pace, participate in 3 Zoom discussions and write a 3-5 page final paper. ACCREDITED is for those interested in credits with Faith International University. Watch the videos, participate in 3 Zoom discussions, write six 3-page papers.

  • Register below and choose between a one-time payment or a monthly payment plan! Once registered, you will find in the course there are clear instructions on how to take the course, access Zoom discussions, submit written papers, or ask questions!
